Did not find your task?
Describe the territory and the goal. A specialist will check the Russian spacecraft archive and the feasibility of a new survey.

What you will receive as a result of the order

Archive and operational images from the Russian constellation, radar materials and products according to the terms of reference.

01

Archive imagery from Russian spacecraft

Black-and-white, colour, multispectral and synthesized images from the available archive.
For retrospective analysis, expertise, cartography and confirmation of the territory state on the required date. The holdings include data from spacecraft that have completed their service life: Resurs-F, Kometa, Kanopus-V, Resurs-DK.
What you get
  • images for available dates
  • a selection for the period
  • materials from decommissioned spacecraft if present in the archive
  • delivery on media or via FTP
Availability of images depends on the operator archive and the actual survey date. Not every territory has a frame for a specific day.
02

Data from operating Russian satellites

Images from Kanopus-V, Resurs-P, Aist-2D, Kondor-FKA and Meteor-M No. 2 when survey is available.
Customers have limited ability to purchase operational data from the Russian constellation. A new survey from Resurs-P was not available at the time of the source text: the latest images date to September 2021.
What you get
  • panchromatic and multispectral data according to spacecraft specifications
  • agreed dates and parameters
  • incoming quality control
  • processing with specialized software
State remote sensing data are primarily processed by NTs OMZ (JSC Russian Space Systems, Roscosmos).
03

Radar materials

Satellite radar survey materials if they are included in the terms of reference.
They complement optical data under cloud cover and independently of natural illumination.
What you get
  • radar images if available from the operator
  • an agreed delivery composition
  • quality control
  • delivery in the ToR formats
The set of radar products depends on survey availability and the client's requirements.
04

Processed materials

The final product based on satellite survey materials according to the terms of reference.
GEO INNOTER delivers finished products on electronic media or via FTP.
What you get
  • archive and new images of the agreed type
  • processing results
  • a report and documents under the contract
  • delivery in the ToR formats
The exact composition depends on the ToR, archive availability and the feasibility of a new survey.

What data is needed to select imagery

For an accurate search and quote, provide:
  • the task to be solved using satellite images
  • territory boundaries, coordinates, district name or an SHP file and the object area
  • the date or time interval of archive or new survey
  • quality requirements: mono or stereo mode, off-nadir angles, resolution, cloud cover, sun angle, panchromatic or multispectral survey

If technical parameters are unknown, describing the intended use of the data is enough — specialists will propose a suitable option.

Describe the task in simple words — we will select available Russian materials.

Why Innoter

Prompt access to archives
Suitable archive materials can be obtained faster if the required territory and date are already held by operators.
No aviation permits
A new satellite survey does not require the flight permits typical of aerial survey.
Large and remote territories
A single satellite pass covers large areas and makes it possible to work with hard-to-reach regions.
Direct agreements with operators
Distribution agreements help select archive imagery and order a new survey from different suppliers.
Software and server infrastructure
Modern software and capacity for quality control and processing of large data volumes.
Experienced domain specialists
Many years of experience on complex projects and specialists in cartography, photogrammetry and remote sensing.

Russian spacecraft, data holdings and order parameters

State remote sensing data are processed by NTs OMZ. Survey composition depends on the platform, archive and constraints on a new survey.
1
Available to order in orbit: 5 spacecraft of the Kanopus-V series — panchromatic 2.1–2.7 m and multispectral 10.5 m at nadir; 3 spacecraft of the Resurs-P series — 0.7 m panchromatic and 3–4 m multispectral; Meteor-M No. 2 — systems with 1 km and 50/100 m resolution; Aist-2D — 1.48 m panchromatic and 4.4 m multispectral. Kondor-FKA and meteorological complexes that Roscosmos classifies as remote sensing spacecraft are also mentioned.
2
Primary processing of state data is performed by NTs OMZ, an enterprise of JSC Russian Space Systems. The operator of the federal remote sensing data fund is the Roscosmos State Corporation (Federal Law No. 46-FZ of 07.03.2018). Fund materials are available via the Roscosmos geoportal. Government bodies needing a new survey should contact the NTs OMZ consumer relations department.
3
Archive data are supplied from decommissioned spacecraft: Meteor-M No. 1, Resurs-F, Resurs-DK1, Monitor-E. The archive accumulated over 25+ years is used for studies of long-term change and forensic imagery analysis.
4
Spatial resolution of civilian Resurs-P images is 70–100 cm, orbital georeferencing accuracy 5–7 m (RMSE). The latest images from this spacecraft date to September 2021; a new survey from it was not available at the time of the source text.
5
As a rule, the minimum order area for archive images is 25 km², for a new survey — 100 km². Minimum strip width is from 2 to 5 km depending on the operator, mode and product.

Frequently asked questions

Answers to key questions about service parameters, timelines, deliverable formats and workflow. If you did not find what you need — contact us and we will help.
  • The task that needs to be solved using satellite images;
  • area of interest (location / coordinates of the object in any convenient form, and the object area);
  • the date or time interval for which archive imagery can be selected or a new survey performed;
  • survey requirements (image off-nadir angle, sun angle, spatial resolution, survey type, cloud cover, whether snow cover is acceptable)

As a rule, the minimum order area of archive satellite images is 25 km2, and for a new satellite survey — 100 km2.

The minimum order-strip width (distance between the two nearest points) may be from 2 to 5 km depending on the satellite operator, survey mode and product.

  • For a new survey: if the work area is known in advance but images with the required parameters are absent from satellite-operator archives, and the allowed time window is large enough to complete the survey in standard mode (without extra pay for acceleration and priority), there is an option of a speculative survey — i.e. de facto a new survey but without a purchase obligation. Because archive remote sensing materials are cheaper than ordering a new survey, once images from the speculative survey enter the archive they can be purchased at a reduced price. After 60 days the price is typically reduced further.
  • For new and archive survey: if the area of interest is a set of separate, unconnected polygons, each smaller than the minimum order area (25 km2 archive survey or 100 sq. km (see item 1)), to reduce the total cost it is advisable to merge them into polygons each larger than the minimum order area.

The timeframe depends on the area of the territory and survey-parameter requirements. The minimum execution time is from 5 business days.

100% prepayment on the invoice for remote sensing materials after the contract is signed; the remaining payment after the work is completed.

  • YES. We work with individuals and legal entities, individual entrepreneurs, state and municipal authorities, foreign customers and others.

What requirements apply to images when creating orthophotomaps of a given scale?

  • The main criteria of image suitability for creating an orthophoto of a given scale are spatial resolution, object georeferencing accuracy and others. See more here.
